That being said, ETS can do any of the PC, Mac, and home-network tasks you’re looking for! This includes: on-site and remote support, new device setup, computer-purchase consulting, migrating files from your old device, troubleshooting slow or spotty internet/Wi-Fi, installing and upgrading computer and network components (SSDs, RAM, modems, routers, access points, etc.), securely disposing of old devices, and more.

The list of steps to stay safe online isn’t a long one, but each one is important. If you currently aren’t doing anything to protect yourself online, you’re still only 5 steps away. The managed plans that ETS provides can check all of these boxes for you:

  • Use strong, unique passwords for all of your accounts and enable multi-factor authentication wherever possible.
  • Keep your computer updated, both operating system and software patches, and only use reputable software, add-ons and browser extensions.
  • Avoid sharing information online where possible. Limit what you share and the audience you share it with.
  • Beware of phishing scams, which can come through email, text messages, and phone calls. Verify links in emails before clicking, don’t enter credentials anywhere you don’t trust, don’t download suspicious files, and follow up with senders to verify that what was sent can be trusted (eg. Call the sender of a suspicious-looking email by using their publicly listed phone number, not the one in the email).
  • Back up your important data, and test the backups regularly to make sure they are working properly.
